
Sugababes ,
are an English pop trio based in London, consisting of members Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen.
The group was formed in 1998 by original members Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan. After some initial success, Donaghy departed due to arguments, and the introduction of Range in 2001 was met with the commercial breakthrough of the group’s first number-one single “Freak Like Me” and parent album Angels with Dirty Faces in 2002. They had major charting success with their singles; “Round Round” and “Hole in the Head”. The group survived a second line-up change in December 2005, when Buena left to be with her child who had been born earlier in the year. She was replaced by Berrabah. In September 2009, it was announced that after eleven years in the Sugababes, Buchanan was no longer a part of the group and had been replaced by Eurovision contestant Ewen.
