is a Renaissance-inspired folk rock duo led by Ritchie Blackmore (acoustic and electric guitar) and Candice Night (lead vocals, lyricist and multi-instrumentalist).

The group recorded a single in 1969 entitled “Ma Belle Amie”, which was a hit in their native country, selling over 100,000 copies.
The group released an album in the United States on Colossus Records in 1970 entitled Ma Belle Amie, which reached #158 on the Billboard 200 chart, just as the single took off in America, eventually reaching #5. The single sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. In the Netherlands, the next single “She Likes Weeds” attained #1 there. However, the track was banned in the U.S., because it was said to refer to using drugs. However, the title was taken from the film The Ipcress File. A follow-up single, “If You Do Believe in Love”, hit #81. The group disbanded in 1975, but briefly reunited in 1979 and 1983.
Their former lead singer Peter Tetteroo died in September 2002 from liver cancer, at the age of 55. ….Read More

are a British soul band that sold more than 50 million albums over a 25-year career. Their style draws influences from blue-eyed soul, new romantic, rock, reggae and jazz.
The discography of Simply Red, consists of ten studio albums, four compilation albums, one extended play, forty-five singles and a number of other appearances.

The band’s first single “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)”, was released in 1985 reached the United Kingdom Top 20. Their debut album, Picture Book, was also released in 1985. The following year the band released “Holding Back the Years”, which reached number one in Ireland and the US and number two in the UK. Their second album, Men and Women was released in 1987. Third album A New Flame was released in 1989, containing “If You Don’t Know Me By Now”, which became their second US number one hit. Their fourth album Stars, became the best-selling album for two years running in Europe after its release in 1991 and was certified 12x Platinum in the UK.

Simply Red released “Fairground” in 1995, which became the band’s first UK number one single. Its parent album was Life. The band followed this up with cover heavy Blue in 1998 and Love and the Russian Winter in 1999. Subsequent releases were “Home” in 2003, a mixture of original songs and covers. Simplified followed in 2005, mainly an album of stripped down versions of their Classic hits. Stay was the bands tenth studio album released in 2007.

He began his career in the late 1950s, with the group Les Chaussettes Noires (The Black Socks), taking his name from the American expatriate tough-guy actor Eddie Constantine (later the star of Jean-Luc Godard’s Alphaville). The band performed at the Parisian nightclub Le Golf Drouot before signing to Barclay Records and finding almost instant success; in 1961 it sold two million records.

Heavily influenced by American rock & roll, Mitchell (who went solo in 1963) has often recorded outside France, at first in London, but later in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. (April 23, 1936 – December 6, 1988) was an American singer-songwriter and musician, well known for his distinctive, powerful voice, complex compositions, and dark emotional ballads. Orbison grew up in Texas and began singing in a rockabilly / country & western band in high school until he was signed by Sun Records in Memphis. His greatest success came with Monument Records in the early to mid 1960s when 22 of his songs placed on the US Billboard Top Forty, including “Only the Lonely”, “Crying”, “In Dreams”, and “Oh, Pretty Woman”. His career stagnated through the 1970s, but several covers of his songs and the use of one in a film by David Lynch revived his career in the 1980s. In 1988, he joined the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne and also released a new solo album. He died of a heart attack in December that year, at the zenith of his resurgence.
