Florence and the Machine ,

(often stylised as Florence + the Machine) is the recording name of English pop artist Florence Welch and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music for her voice. Florence and the Machine’s sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including rock and soul. The band’s music has received praise across the music media before they gained mainstream success, especially from the BBC who played a large part in Florence and the Machine’s rise to prominence by promoting her as part of BBC Introducing.

The band’s debut album, Lungs was released on 6 July 2009, and held the No. 2 position for its first five weeks in the UK Album Chart. On 17 January 2010, the album reached No. 1 on the UK album chart, having remained in the chart for 28 consecutive weeks up until that point. The album has been within the top 40 in the United Kingdom for 58 consecutive weeks, making it one of the best selling albums of 2009 and 2010 so far. Prior to starting his solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist of the rock music band The Police. Courant 2009, Mgr Jean-Michel di Falco Léandri, évêque du diocèse de Gap et d’Embrun, cherche les financements de deux grands projets qui lui tiennent particulièrement à cœur : le soutien financier d’une école à Madagascar et l’édification d’une nouvelle église au sanctuaire Notre-Dame du Laus, près de Gap.

Afin de réunir les fonds nécessaires, Mgr Jean-Michel di Falco Léandri, inspiré par le phénomène The Priests, choisit de réunir deux prêtres et un séminariste : le Père Jean Michel Bardet, le Père Charles Troesch et le séminariste Dinh Nguyen. was a pop rock band formed in 1966 in Delft, Netherlands.
The group recorded a single in 1969 entitled “Ma Belle Amie”, which was a hit in their native country, selling over 100,000 copies.
The group released an album in the United States on Colossus Records in 1970 entitled Ma Belle Amie, which reached #158 on the Billboard 200 chart, just as the single took off in America, eventually reaching #5. The single sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. In the Netherlands, the next single “She Likes Weeds” attained #1 there. However, the track was banned in the U.S., because it was said to refer to using drugs. However, the title was taken from the film The Ipcress File. A follow-up single, “If You Do Believe in Love”, hit #81. The group disbanded in 1975, but briefly reunited in 1979 and 1983.
Their former lead singer Peter Tetteroo died in September 2002 from liver cancer, at the age of 55. ….Read More
