Founded by Hector Miranda in 1960. Their first LP promoted by Violeta Parra, won the highest award from the Académy Charles Cros in 1970. The “Loisirs Jeunes” prize followed in 1971, along with several “disques d’or” in France,Spain and Mexico. They played the soundtrack of “Etat de Siege” the film by Costa Gavras starring Yves Montand and composed by Mikis Theodorakis. They took part with Atahualpa Yupanqui in : “Soy Libre”, a Belgian TV program awarded a prize at the Montreux Festival in Switzerland. They performed at several French classical music festivals and gave over 3000 concerts in the world’s greatest theaters, including the ” Olympia” in Paris, the ” Palacio de Bellas Artes” in Mexico, the ” Victoria Hall” in Geneva, the “Lisner Auditorium” in Washington the “Tivoli” in Copenhagen and the “Monumental” in Madrid. Luz Casal ,
born November 11, 1958 at Boimorto, is a Spanish pop singer. She grew up in neighbouring Asturias, took singing, piano and ballet classes, and moved to Madrid to pursue a career as a musician.
She became famous in the early 1980s, and remained an important figure in Spanish pop music all through said decade and beyond, with her sound gradually maturing towards soft adult pop. She recorded a cover version of Étienne Daho’s French language song “Duel au Soleil” in Spanish called “Un nuevo día brillará”, which became a hit song.
In 1992 she enjoyed great success with her appearance in the soundtrack of Pedro Almodóvar’s acclaimed film Tacones Lejanos singing Agustín Lara’s theme “Piensa en mí”.
In January 2007, Luz Casal was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent an operation at the Ruber Clinic in Madrid.[citation needed], seven months later, she revealed to the Spanish media that she had overcome her disease.

In 1999 she participated in the Belgian preselections of the Eurovision Song Contest and from then on Belle’s career in music took off. Armando Peraza ,
(born May 30, 1924 in Havana, Cuba) is a Latin jazz percussionist. Through his long associations with jazz pianist George Shearing, vibraphonist Cal Tjader and guitarist Carlos Santana, he has been internationally known from the 1950s through to the 1990s. Although primarily known as a bongocero and conguero, Peraza is also an innovative and accomplished dancer and composer. Peraza has been featured on classic recordings by Perez Prado, Machito, George Shearing, Charlie Parker, Tito Puente, Cal Tjader and Carlos Santana.
Significantly, and uniquely amongst the great Cuban percussionists, Peraza has for many years been an important socio-political figure, a symbol of Afro-Cuban achievement through his virtuoso musicianship and his refusal to be defeated by racism. His work with Shearing, Tjader and Santana brought him international fame. He has been inducted into the Smithsonian Institution’s Hall of Jazz Legends and has had three official “Armando Peraza Days” by the City of San Francisco. ….More
