Ozzy Osbourne ,

John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer-songwriter whose career has spanned five decades.

Osbourne initially rose to prominence as lead vocalist of the pioneering English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, a band whose radically different, intentionally dark, doom sound spearheaded the heavy metal genre. In his subsequent solo career Osbourne achieved a multi-platinum status in addition to the one he had earned with Black Sabbath. These things are what led Osbourne to become known as the “Godfather of Heavy Metal”. Osbourne is ranked 8th on Hit Parader’s list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of all time. It was during his Sabbath days (because of their dark style of music, not because he was a satanist) that Osbourne became known as the “Prince of Darkness.” Osbourne has over 15 tattoos, the most famous of which are the letters O-Z-Z-Y across the knuckles of his left hand. This was his first tattoo, created himself with a sewing needle and pencil lead. ….Read More

Scorpions – Blackout ,

is the eighth studio album by the German heavy metal band Scorpions, released in 1982.

Lead vocalist Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords during the writing of the album and it was uncertain whether he would be able to record it. Demos of the material were recorded with Don Dokken as vocalist; however none of those recordings are featured on the album.

Rudolf Schenker could not choose between his guitar solos on “China White”, so the US and European releases differed in this small detail.

A self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein is featured on the cover of the album. Rudolf Schenker portrays this character in the “No One Like You” music video. ….Read More

The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and they were ranked #46 on VH1’s Greatest Artists of Hard Rock program. “Rock You Like a Hurricane” is also #18 on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. After 45 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music. Lacuna Coil ,

is an Italian rock band from Milan, Italy, formed in 1994. Formerly known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal, the band was inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music, and the members have been known, musically, for composing midtempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band’s recent material, however, sees a heavier and more down-tuned style, featuring a more distinct bass line and a higher mixing of the guitars within the songs.

The band’s 2006 release, Karmacode peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200. Their latest release, Shallow Life, debuted at number 16 on the Billboard charts. The album marks the band diverging their sound from gothic metal to straight-forward alternative hard rock. ….Read More

Airbourne ,

is an Australian hard rock band originating from Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia, where they gained a steady following with their hard rock sound.
The band was formed in 2003 by the brothers Joel and Ryan O’Keeffe. Joel picked up his first guitar at the age of 11 and Ryan had his first drum kit at the same age with Joel being 15 at the time. It took the brothers several years to find like minded musicians with the same taste for making Rock ‘N’ Roll music in their hometown. Joel was introduced to guitarist David Roads when the two worked at the Hotel Warrnambool. Bringing their guitars to work and, after their shifts, jamming on song ideas, Dave was soon asked to join the O’Keeffe brothers for a jam at their house. Bassist Justin Street completed the picture in 2003, when Ryan ran into him while stumbling home drunk from a party one night. As it turned out his new mate played bass, and was interested in jamming with a band that were looking to move to Melbourne. Finally, Airbourne was born. ….Read More

AC/DC ,

are an Australian hard rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Although the band are considered pioneers of heavy metal, its members have always classified their music as “rock ‘n’ roll”.

AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans in 1977. In 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected as Scott’s replacement. Later that year, the band released their best-selling album, Back in Black. ….More
